Join the Morgan School Social Justice Club and Clinton Arts Council for the reveal of Clinton’s first Social Justice Murals on July 1 at 2PM at Morgan School in 71 Killingworth Turnpike, Clinton, CT.
Partnering with statewide public art nonprofit, RiseUP for Arts, the Social Justice Club and Arts Council held a series of discussions with the artist, Jaii Marc Renee, to design the mural. The students at Morgan School wanted to see the diversity of their school represented in the murals and a bright and colorful design that would be fun for pictures in front of.
Jaii Marc Renee executed the two murals on 4x6 panels that will begin their journey around Clinton this summer at Morgan School and then be moved to other buildings. The goal is to use the public art to spread the message of equality and love throughout the town.
The murals were funded by a grant from CT Humanities to Clinton Arts Council.
