The Electric Jungle: An Unforgettable Immersive Art Experience in Hartford

Forget everything you thought you knew about art exhibits. This isn't your traditional, quiet museum stroll; it's a sensory feast that will ignite your imagination and feed your soul. A revolutionary display of public art is now available right in the heart of Connecticut! You no longer have to flock to the crowded metropolises of New York or Philadelphia to witness world-class, immersive art experiences. They are happening right here, in our own beloved Hartford, Connecticut!

Welcome to the "Electric Jungle".

RiseUP is redefining the Connecticut art scene with their latest immersive art exhibit, the Electric Jungle, co-created by the visionary artists Mercury and Ryan Glista. The exhibit bursts into life at RiseUP's studio located at 50 Bartholomew Avenue. The best part? Admission is completely free.

Imagine wading through a lush jungle, but instead of leaves and vines, the air is filled with ceiling-to-floor ribbons of fabric. As you journey through, you'll be wrapped in the embrace of light and sound, with the space illuminated by vivid animation and projection-mapped dance. You'll discover a meditative, creative community space featuring the enchanting dance performances by Carolyn Paine and animation by Kristen Stambolic. It's not just art—it's an experience that invites you to sit, stay, and reflect.

Mercury, one of the co-creating artists, shared their intent for the exhibit as an exploration of "the invisible flow of information and the effect of technology on our psyche". The result is a beautiful intersection of art and technology that encourages visitors to lose themselves in the symphony of colors, movements, and sounds. One visitor called it "magical," and "one of the most incredible art experiences of my life."

Art is no longer a distant spectator sport—it's intimate, engaging, and available right here in Hartford. The Electric Jungle had its grand debut last month, and due to its resounding success, it's now returning for free public viewing on June 23 and 24 from 4-8pm.

Art lovers, families, and curious souls are all invited to partake in this exceptional experience. In a world that is increasingly digital and disconnected, the Electric Jungle offers an opportunity to engage, to explore, and to feel part of a communal art experience.

This incredible exhibit was produced and funded by RiseUP and The Greater Hartford Arts Council. Their dedication to enriching our community through public art, particularly with a focus on youth development, is a testament to their commitment to fostering a vibrant, creative Connecticut.

So, why wait? Be a part of the revolution of art.
